Türkiye continues to grow as one of the world’s foremost health tourism destinations, driven by a coordinated effort between government bodies and private healthcare providers that few competing markets can match. That collaboration was on display this week as a delegation of Russian press and media representatives visited Istanbul for a structured tour of the sector — including a full on-site visit to DentSpa Dental Clinic, one of the city’s established providers of dental care for international patients.
The programme was organised by TGA (Tourism Promotion and Development Agency of Türkiye) and USHAŞ (International Health Services Inc.), the two bodies responsible for promoting Türkiye’s healthcare and tourism offer globally and for facilitating the kind of direct international media engagement that underpins patient trust in key markets.
Russia: A Key Market Built on Trust and Transparency
Russia represents one of the most significant and fast-growing patient markets for Türkiye’s health tourism sector. For Russian-speaking patients considering treatment abroad, the decision-making process is shaped by specific concerns: the credibility of the clinic, the clarity of communication, and the reliability of the full journey — from first enquiry through to post-treatment follow-up at home.
Health Türkiye: The Platform That Makes Trust Official
A cornerstone of Türkiye’s health tourism credibility is Health Türkiye (healthturkiye.gov.tr) — an official, government-backed platform listing verified clinics and giving international patients a transparent, authoritative resource for researching care abroad. The platform ensures that clinics operating within Türkiye’s health tourism framework meet defined standards, providing the institutional assurance that patients in markets such as Russia require before committing to treatment overseas.
DentSpa is aligned with the Health Türkiye framework. The clinic holds ISO 9001 and ISO 10002 certifications and operates under licences from the Turkish Dental Association and the Ministry of Health — credentials that signal to international patients, including those arriving from Russia, that their care is taking place within a verified and accountable system.
Inside DentSpa: Technology, Workflow, and Patient-Centred Care
During their visit, the Russian delegation toured DentSpa’s facilities and met with senior clinicians, including specialists in implantology and oral surgery. They observed the clinic’s digital dentistry capabilities in practice — CAD/CAM systems for in-house production of crowns, veneers, and bridges, and 3D CBCT imaging for surgical planning.
Equally important to the delegation was understanding the full patient experience infrastructure. DentSpa assigns each international patient a dedicated coordinator from first contact through to discharge, with multilingual support — including Russian — available at every stage. Airport transfers, hotel arrangements, and on-the-ground logistics are managed by a dedicated team. After patients return home, a remote aftercare service provides continued access to the clinical team, with treatment records shareable with the patient’s local dentist.
Founded in 2018, DentSpa has treated more than 50,000 international patients from over 50 countries and was recognised as the Best Dental Odontology Clinic in Europe in 2024.
“Our patients find us through platforms, digital searches, and personal recommendations — but what keeps them coming back, and what generates those recommendations in the first place, is the consistency of the experience from first message to final check-up. That is what we wanted to show the delegation today.”
